Core Math

·         Monday – Classwork: pages 31 & 32, problems 1-3. Student Activity Sheet 13. Homework: none.
·         Tuesday – Classwork: page 38, problems 12-15. Section summary.  Homework: pages 41 & 42, problems 1-6 and FFR.
·         Wednesday – Classwork: Quiz 2. Turn in folders. Homework: none.
·         Thursday – field trip to Springfield Conservation nature Center.
·         Friday – Classwork: Fractions and Mental math activity.

Math Enrichment
We are continuing lessons in Hands-on Equations with two new lessons each day. Monday, May 13 we will have a test over this material.

Core Math
·         Monday – Classwork: Activity on page 14, then pages 14-15, problems 1-7. Student Activity Sheet 3. Homework: none.
·         Tuesday – Classwork: Activity on page 16, pages 16-17, problems 8-11. Fill out “Faces, Vertices and Edges” chart. Homework: none.
·         Wednesday – Classwork: page 18, problems 12-14. Student Activity Sheet 4. Homework: pages 21-22, problems 1-4 and For Further Reflection. Signed progress reports due to fifth period teacher.
·         Thursday – Classwork: Quiz 1, Packages and Polygons. Homework: none.
·         Friday – Classwork: pages 25-27, problems 9-11 and 14-15. Homework: pages 29 & 30, problems 1-4 and For Further Reflection. Student Activity Sheet 7.

Math Exploratory
We were delayed in starting Hands-on Equations, so we will start that on Monday. Hands-on Equations is a system of solving algebra equations using manipulatives. We will do two lessons each day. They are not homework unless a student gets behind or is absent.

Mrs. Good's Math Plans, Week of April 22, 2013

Core Math – We are starting a shortened version of a new unit, “Packages and Polygons.” We will be in this unit for about two weeks.

·         Monday – finish Performance Series on-line achievement test in library computer lab.
·         Tuesday – Classwork: Pages 1-5, problems 1-6. Homework: none.
·         Wednesday – Classwork: Pages 6-7, problems 7-11. Homework: pages 53-54, problems 1-4.
·         Thursday – Classwork: Page 8, problems 12-14. Homework: none.
·         Friday – Classwork: Pages 9, problems 15-17. Homework: pages 12 & 13, problems 1-4.

Math Exploratory – Tuesday the Inscribed Polygons poster and chart is due. Wednesday we will start “Hands-on Equations,” lessons that solving algebra equations using manipulatives. We will do two lessons each day.

Core Math – We are finishing our unit on data analysis with a unit test on Tuesday. Unit folders are due Tuesday also.
·         Monday – Classwork: correct the unit review that was handed out Thursday. Play a review game. Homework: prepare unit folder, study for unit test.
·         Tuesday – Classwork: turn in folder, take unit test. Homework: none.
·         Wednesday – Classwork: MAP practice. Homework: none. Signed progress reports due to fifth period teacher.
·         Thursday – Classwork: Mrs. Roffers will present a guidance lesson. Homework: none.
·         Friday – no school for students.
Math Exploratory

·         Monday – Tangrams and Mathematical Relationships due.
·         Wednesday – Soma Cubes and Spatial Relationships due.

Core Math – We have one more week in our “Dealing with Data” unit, and then Monday, April 8 we will review for the unit test and Tuesday, April 9 we will have the unit test and collect folders.
·         Monday –Classwork: pages 34-38, problems 1-7. Homework: none.
·         Tuesday – Classwork: Quartiles worksheet and page 39, problems 8-10. Homework: page 40, problem 11. For 11.b., choose either a stem-and-leaf, a dot plot, a histogram, or a tally.
·         Wednesday – Classwork: Box-and-whiskers worksheet and page 40-43, problems 12-16 and Section E summary. Homework: page 45, problems 1-5, no FFR.
·         Thursday – Classwork: page 49, problems 1-6, then start on unit review. Homework: none.
·         Friday – Classwork: work on unit review. Homework: unit review if not finished.
Math Exploratory
·         Wednesday – Isometric Mat Plans due at the end of the period.
·         Thursday – Tangram Proportions due at the end of the period.

Core Math – We are continuing in our unit we started right before spring break, “Dealing with Data.” Most of the work is in the textbook.
·         Monday –Classwork: pages 7-9, problems 3-7 (skip 6.c.). Homework: none.
·         Tuesday –Classwork: pages 9-11, problems 8-10. Homework: pages 10 & 11, problems 1 & 2, no FFR.
·         Wednesday – Classwork: pages 12-16, problems 1-10 (skip 4). Homework: page 17, problems 11-13.
·         Thursday – Classwork: pages 18-20, problems 14-17. Homework: page 20, problem 18.
·         Friday – Classwork: page 47, problems 1-4, then page 22, problems 1-3 and For Further Reflection. Homework: none.
Math Exploratory – This week we will be solving area and perimeter problems using Cuisenaire Math Rods. Monday students will start on a packet, “Stamping Footprints with Rods,” which will be due at the end of the period Wednesday. Wednesday they will receive a packet, “Finding the Distance Around,” which will be due at the end of the period Friday.
