Mrs. Good's Math Plans, Week of January 2, 2013

Welcome back. It hardly seems possible that we are halfway through this school year, but we are. A new group of students will be in Math Enrichment this quarter. Students normally finish Math Enrichment work in class, but if they get behind they may have to finish it as homework.

Core Math:

·         Monday – no school.

·         Tuesday – no school.

·         Wednesday – Classwork: page 24, problems 1-3 and activity and worksheet “Making Triangles from Squares. Homework: none.

·         Thursday – Classwork: pages 27-29, problems 8-13. Homework: none

·         Friday – Classwork: pages 30 & 31, problems 14-16. Homework: Pythagorean Practice worksheet (most students will be able to complete this in class.

Math Exploratory

 Starting Wednesday we will be working with Cuisenaire math rods to learn about area, perimeter, and surface area of solids. “Stamping Footprints with Rods,” an activity packet dealing with area, is due Friday.
